Programming Languages Evolution
There are many types of programming languages. Among all these programming language C programs is the first programming language developed by Dennis M. Ritchie in 1971. But for all the programming languages there is need of separate compiler depending upon the programming language we are using. Due to different compiler required for a programming language, it became difficult to understand by the users as the computer could only understand two digits ie. o and 1.
Who is Father of Web Development?
Then in 1990 not the programming language but scripting language was developed by Tim Berner’s Lee called HTML. Tim Berner’s Lee is also known as the “Father of Web Development”. HTML refers to Hypertext Markup Language where Hypertext means the text that can be viewed in browsers and Markup means the things that are previously written.
So, now you can find two different types of languages ie. Programming language and Scripting language. Let us talk about there differences in brief. A programming language needs a compiler to compile to run its code as it is not understood by a computer. Now the most powerful scripting language is PHP.
PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor
PHP was developed by Rasmus Lerdorf in 1994AD. After he developed this scripting language it was abbreviated to Personal Home Page. But later PHP was modified and it became PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor in 1997AD. PHP is simple server-side scripting language where HTML can be embedded easily. PHP is case-sensitive in its code. And while coding CamelCasing is strictly used. Since PHP is server-side scripting language it requires different types of server to execute the codes. Different types of server are as follow:
1) XAMPP – supported in all the operating system
2) MAMP – supported in only Macintosh
3) WAMP – supported in only Windows
4) LAMP – supported in only Linux
XAMPP is a free and open-source cross-platform web server solution stack package developed by Apache friends. XAMPP stands for
X – Cross-platform
A – Apache server
M – MySql
P – PHP
P – Perl
The process of changing default localhost to users:
- Download XAMPP from XAMPP.org
- Install XAMPP
- After installing XAMPP, open XAMPP and make it run as administrator.
- Click on the checkbox to activate
- Check the current Apache server
- After checking, click on config button of Apache
- Click of Apache(httpd.conf)
- Press CTRL + H
- Press Replace all
The process of the auto start of Apache and MySql:
- Open XAMPP’s control panel
- Open config
- Press auto-start on Apache and MySql module
- Click on Save
Some General Knowledge:
First Browser: Netscape Navigator (introduced by Netscape Navigator)
XAMPP is software… not a server
MySql: Structured Query Language
